My family is usually not a fan of carrots, except when they are an ingredient inside a warm cake topped with cream cheese frosting. It’s hard to get consistency on carrots simultaneously to ensure they are fully cooked. Gone are the days of feeding the carrots to the dog or folding them in a napkin. Impress your family at your next holiday dinner with Honey-Glazed Grilled Carrots as a replacement for that traditional steamed variation. These Ninja Foodi glazed carrots are roasted in a sticky sweet honey glaze and charred to perfection.
How to Cook Glazed Carrots in a Ninja Foodi
These grilled and honey-glazed carrots are sure to win over your guests. They are finished with a honey-brown sugar glaze and make an incredible side dish for any holiday dinner or mid-week meal. If you use thick carrots, they will need to be cut down lengthwise before you grill them, or else you risk burning the thin ends as the thicker end cooks evenly. Using smaller carrots, you do not need to cut them down lengthwise; they can be grilled whole.
Step 1. Put in the Grill Grate and shut the lid. Choose GRILL, set the temperature to MAX, and set the time to 10 minutes. Choose START/STOP to start the Nina Foodi preheating Nina Foodi process.
Step 2. Use a large bowl, and stir the carrots and oil until thoroughly covered.
Step 3. After the Ninja unit beeps to signify the unit has preheated, put carrots on the Grill Grate and start from the center. Shut the hood and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 4. In the meantime, use a small bowl to mix the brown sugar, butter, honey, and salt with a whisk.
Step 5. Following 5 minutes of cooking, open the hood to baste the carrots with the honey glaze. By using tongs, flip the carrots to baste the other side. Shut the hood to finish cooking another 5 minutes.
